  • Glazing

    The PPSW has been repeatedly tested to Level 2 of AS3555.1-2003 "Building Elements - Testing and Rating for Intruder Resistance", with various options for glazing. Please contact us to discuss specific glazing types.

    The maximum thickness of glazing to fit into the PPSW frame is 22mm.

    Sizing Rules

    The PPPSW is manufactured to suit required openings. Large clear view sizes are possible depending on the situation and security level required, there may be a requirement to have mullions and transoms for large windows.

    Acoustic Performance

    A certified acoustic rating of STC 35 is available for this window. Please notify PDS if you require acoustic certification for your window. Glazing options are limited.

    Fire Resistance Rating

    The PPSW is available with a fire resistance rating with the following glass types:

    Frame Types & Profiles

    Steel Frame

    The steel frame profiles listed below are available for the PPSW window.

    Windows can be supplied with frames finished in standard powder coat colours.

    Wall Types

    The PPSW is suitable for installation in timber stud, steel stud and masonry walls.

    The standard installation method for steel or timber stud walls is by 12g screws at max. 450mm centres.

    The standard for masonry installation is M8 Excalibur screwbolts (or similar) at max. 450mm centres.

    No fasteners are exposed to weather or the attack face.

      Thermal Insulation

      Typical glazing used in this window has a thermal insulation rating (R-value) of 0.237 Km2/W

      Testing

      Level 2 of AS3555.1-2003 "Building Elements - Testing and Rating for Intruder Resistance" consists of two men attacking the window with a range of common hand tools in order to create an opening of at least 620 cm2
