    2. Pair doors are available with certified explosive blast resistance and bullet resistance but not burglar resistance.

    Wall Types

    This door set is suitable for installation into a timber or masonry wall of equal security construction as the door type.

  • Leaf Facings

    All steel leaf with attack face in 6mm steel. Non attack (inside) face is a removable light gauge steel panel (rivet fixed as standard).

    Meeting Stiles

  • Hardware must be specified in detail at the time of ordering so that correct preparation of the steel door leaf and frame can be made. This includes any door furniture or items which may be screw-fixed to or through the outside face.

    Closer                 

    Surface-mounted closers mounted on the inside face are recommended.

    Hinges

    Fully mortised 4½ x 4½ Stainless steel Institutional hinges are standard on the hinged Armashield door set.

    Multipoint locking system

    Locking systems with multiple bolts including top and bottom bolts, internally fitted to the Armashield door set, are available from Pacific Door Systems.

  • Timber Frame

    This door set is only available in a steel frame.

    The steel frame profiles listed below are available for the Armashield door set

       

    Standard frames are three-sided only with no sill. Four-sided frames and/or custom sills may be available on request. For more in depth information on frame profiles and sizes, please see our Installation Instructions.

    Notes:

    1. Please note that the height and width of the vision panel must still fall within the maximum glazed area.
    2. Glazing type can be of your choice.
    3. Blast, Attack and Ballistic ratings will be affected if the door has a vision panel.

     

    The standard glazing system provides a flush attack face and steel beading with fixings on the “non-attack” face. The system is adaptable to various thicknesses of security glazing according to requirements.

  • Security Testing

    A hinged Armashield door set with Surelock McGill D4 three point locking was subjected to a Level 4 attack according to AS3555-1988 "Building Elements - Testing and Rating for Intruder Resistance".

    Two men attacked the door set with common hand & power tools and succeeded in removing the door leaf from its frame (thus forming an opening in the door set) after 27 minutes 30 seconds.

    Ballistic Testing

    The standard Armashield door set has been successfully tested to AS/NZS 2343:1997 “Bullet resistant panels and elements” with ratings of:

    • G2 .44 Magnum
    • S0 Shotgun 12 gauge 32g SG shot

    A version of the Armashield is available tested to R2 rating.

    Ballistic rated door sets require either a fully-grouted frame installation to masonry or concrete walls, or else ballistic protection built into the frame during manufacture. Matching Ballistic Wall Panels are described in a separate section.

     

    Explosive Blast Testing

    The Pacific ARMASHIELD single leaf doorset is tested to level EXR 2 of EN 13124:2004 “Windows, doors and shutters – Explosion resistance”.

    An explosive charge of 3 kg TNT was detonated 3 metres away from the door.

    The Pacific ARMASHIELD pair doorset is tested to level EXR 1 (3 kg TNT at 5 metres).

    Note: Vision panels are not an option for blast resistant doorsets. Hardware is limited.

    Thermal Insulation

    This door leaf has a thermal insulation rating (R-value) of 0.029 Km2/W.

Product Optional Extras

  • Push or Kickplates

    Kickplates are not generally required on this door set.

    Ventilation Grilles

    Ventilation grilles are not applicable for this door set.

    Power Transfer Devices

    Fully mortised devices, which fully conceal cables, are recommended (such as Von Duprin EPT). Hinges with integral wiring are also available.

  • Overpanels are not applicable for this door set.
