  • Leaf Size

    Timber framed smoke control doors include a seal in the frame. Steel framed doors include the PFS-4 seal. If required, bottom seals can be selected from the hardware list.

    The thickness of the VP30 door leaf is 48mm with an approximate base leaf weight of 27kg/m2

    Notes:

    1. Please note that the maximum leaf width shown above is measured per door leaf.
    2. The ‘sm’ above denotes that the door is available as a smoke control door set.
    3.  Meeting styles for doors installed into Korok walls are restricted to J-Section or Bullnose.
    4. Timber framed doorsets in Korok walls have limited installation options. Please see the installation section for details.
    5. Timber jambs are not possible for doors installed into James Hardie walls.
    6. Insulation ratings must be notified at time of pricing for steel frames.
    7. Door sets with leafs larger than 2700 x 1200 are not intended for frequent use, we recommend they be typically either held open or closed with compliant hardware in normal operation.
    8. Minimum width for a fire door leaf is governed by the need to fit a compliant closer. Typically, 400 mm is the practical minimum.

     

    Wall Types

    As previously noted, Jambs may be connected to timber stud, steel stud or concrete/masonry walls. The minimum specification for each wall type is:

    • Precast Concrete of 100mm thickness minimum or grouted blockwork of 140mm thickness minimum.
    • Timber or steel stud plasterboard walls of FRR -/30/30 or above. Where steel framed door sets are used, wall framing must be 100 x 50mm minimum.
    • Universal Wall systems GBUW30a or GBUW30b
    • Gib Weatherline Rigid Air Barrier Systems GWTLE 30 and GWTLP 30
    • Speedpanel & Korok walls (51mm, 64mm or 78mm)
    • James Hardie JHETGJ60 fire rated wall system.
    • Boral 25mm shaftliner wall (Note special installation details and size restrictions apply refer Pacific Doors for details)

    4. Standard Paint Quality doors are allowed ‘non-clashed’ to provide best surface for finish painting.

    Leaf Edges

    The leaf edges listed below are available for the VP30 door set.

    Paint quality doors are non-clashed as standard.


    1. Metal cappings are not available for timber framed doorsets or doors into Speedwall or James Hardie.

     

    Meeting Stile

    The meeting stiles listed below are applicable to paired door sets only.

  • Timber Frame

    The timber frame profiles listed below are available for the VP30 door set.

    The timber species of the frame must be a hardwood of minimum density 580kg/m3

     

    Steel Frame

    The steel frame profiles listed below are available for the VP30 door set.

    The VP30 door set is available in the two-part steel frame system for fixing to walls already lined.

    Notes:

    1. D2 and D4 not available for doors with sidelights or overlights, and is not compliant in Speedwall.
    2. D2 and D4 require minimum 110 mm wall thickness

    Standard frames are three-sided only with no sill. Four-sided frames and/or custom sills may be available on request. Timber sills are not available on fire doorsets. For more in depth information on frame profiles and sizes, please see our Installation Instructions.

    Notes:

    1. Please note that the height and width of the vision panel must still fall within the maximum glazed area.
    2. A maximum of two vision panels are permitted per leaf.

  • Acoustical performance

    An acoustic rating of STC 31 (Rw 32) is available for ply / MDF faced doors and STC 36 (Rw 38) for steel face doors.

    If an acoustic rating is required this has to be specified at time of order and will come with restrictions around seals and vision panels. Please contact Pacific Doors if more information is required.

    Thermal insulation

    This door leaf has a thermal insulation rating (R-value) of 0.645 Km2/W.

Product Optional Extras

  • Push or Kickplates

    Push plates or kickplates can be of the below permitted materials and can be either surface mounted or recessed flush. Fixing may be via screws or contact adhesive only.

    • Steel (mild or Stainless)
    • Vinyl Sheets up to 2mm
    • Formica
    • Acrovyn 4000
    • Korogard

    Rubber kickplates can only be surface mounted – special conditions do apply, please contact us for more detail.

     

    Ventilation Grilles


    Lorient LVH intumescent grilles are available in the following sizes:

    • 300 x 300 mm
    • 450 x 450 mm
    • 600 x 300 mm
    • 600 x 600 mm

    Two such Intumescent grilles may be fitted to each leaf separated from each other and hardware by at least 300mm (only one 600 x 600 mm grille allowed per leaf).

    Ventilation grilles are not suitable for exposed exterior doors. Grilles in exterior doors require an additional, custom made cover plate.

    Please note that fire doors with ventilation grilles cannot be certified as ‘Smoke control' door sets.

    Drop shutter grilles are not an option on this doorset.

     

    Sloping/Raked Head Fire Door

    The VP30 leaf is available with a raked top edge. The length of the inclined edge must not exceed 1200mm.

     

      Adjacent Doors

      Adjacent fire rated doors are permitted provided the central mullion is grouted steel or else timber (100 x 75mm lined with Fyreline Gib Board 13mm each side or hardwood 60 x 115mm minimum without linings).

      Adjacent fire rated doors are not permitted in Speedwall or James Hardie walls.

      Bolection Moulds

      Bolection moulds must not extend to the edge of the leaf (120 mm minimum from side edges and 140 mm minimum from top edge). Care should be taken to ensure they don't clash with any door hardware or furniture.

      Bolection moulds can be to one or both faces of a leaf.

      Example patterns:

       

      V-GROOVES

      V-grooves can be machined into the leaf facings for aesthetic purposes.

      The following restrictions apply:

      • Leaf facing has to be MDF or ply.

              

       

      Decorative panels

      Decorative panels (stone, glass, MDF, plasterboard, hardboard or greenboard) can be added to one face of the door leaf provided:

      •    Panel is glue fixed (no screws or nails)
      •    Additional weight is less than 20 kg per hinge
      •    Leaf dimensions are 2400 x 1020 or less
      •    Leaf is hung in a steel frame

      Panels to be installed on site by others. They can be either glued directly to the face of the leaf or onto timber battens glued to the leaf.

      If the decorative panel is on the hinge face of the leaf, please specify extended "wide throw" hinges.
      Decorative panels on push face of leaf may not extend under the frame stop.
      Please note that special hardware items may be required (e.g. extended spindles).
      Decorative panels are not allowed in conjunction with vision panels.

    • Transom Overpanels

      Overpanels with transom are available in steel jambs to an overall height of 4160mm both in single leaf and pair door sets.

      Fixed side panels may be fitted as part of this door set in a steel frame.

      Sidelights, Overlights and Panels are not permitted in Korok / Speedwall or James Hardie wall.

    • Timber Framed Sidelight & Overlight

      Elevation

      The Pyrobel glazing system can include panes of up to 2537h or 2537w, up to a maximum glazed area of 3.70m2

      Pyrobel is not suitable for exterior use.

      Detail

      For the VP30 system, the separate glazed sidelight is connected to the fire door frame with a layer of 13mm plasterboard between. The joint is covered by a timber architrave as illustrated below. Door set, sidelite and overlite will be made and dispatched separately for on site assembly. 13mm Fyreline and architraves not supplied by Pacific Doors.

      Sidelights & overlights are not available in Korok walls.

      Steel Framed Sidelight & Overlight

      Elevation

      The steel framed glazing system can include panes of up to 2820h or 2820w, up to a maximum glazed area of 3.58m2

      Detail

      The steel frame between the window and the door must be packed with fire insulation board. Unit is required to be factory welded therefore practical limitations of size need to be considered for freight. Powder coat finish is not available.

      Sidelights & overlights are not available in Korok walls.


       

      Note: Pyrobel glazing can be used for interior applications only.

    • Timber Frame - Uninsulated Sidelights and Overlights


      Restrictions

      Maximum height of overall unit is 2500mm.

      This sidelight and overlight configuration is available for single and paired door sets, however the maximum height and width of the door set is 2400h x 1050w when a sidelight and/or overlight is added.

      This sidelight and overlight configuration applies to the following uninsulated glazing types:

      • Firelite
      • Georgian Wired
      • Robax
      • Pyran

      Clear pane size of 967h x 558w for all applicable glazing types.

      Sidelights & overlights are not available in Korok walls.

      Steel Frame - Uninsulated Sidelights and Overlights

      Restrictions

      Maximum height of overall unit is 3100mm.

      This sidelight and overlight configuration is available for single and paired door sets, however the maximum height and width of the door set is 2400h x 1200w when a sidelight and/or overlight is added.

      This sidelight and overlight configuration applies to the following uninsulated glazing types:

      • Firelite
      • Georgian Wired
      • Robax
      • Pyran

      Clear pane size of 600h x 1630w for all applicable glazing types.

      Sidelights & overlights are not available in Korok walls.
